Londonderry Rural Fire Brigade currently protects 3,800 people living within it’s brigade boundaries (Londonderry and part of Cranebrook). In addition it provides primary support to Llandilo (pop. 1,400), Castlereagh (pop. 1,700) and Berkshire Park (pop. 1,400) Rural Fire Brigades, in all a total of 8,300 persons living within the northern part of Penrith Rural Fire District.

 

Londonderry RFB has a total membership including juniors of 38, of which approximately 22 are active firefighters. During the RFS year 2002/2003 (01/04/2002 to 31/03/2003), a season of extreme and extensive wildfires, Londonderry RFB attended 196 calls, these are summarized as follows:
